Mustard Greens Tofu Stir-Fry

Got tired.. My maid went home to her village for a week and my mother was busy doing the household chores, so this time I had to cook by myself. It was Indonesian food called ‘Oseng tahu-sawi’ and I don’t know its name in english, Mustard greens Tofu Stir-Fry? I found the recipe on internet and changed some ingredients that I didn’t have in my fridge. The recipe says only thirty minutes cooking, but I found myself cooking almost one hour! yes! because I add a carrot by myself and it took so long to cook until tender. Actually, half-cooked carrot is healthy, but unfortunately I don’t like the taste :s Well, this kind of  food is a good choice for vegetarian and healthy because it has carrot and mustard greens.  Easy to make, yet so delicious.

Yield: two servings, level: easy

Estimate time:

Prep time: 10 minutes

Cook: 30 minutes (from recipe), 50 minutes (from experience)

Ingredients:

  1. 1 carrot, chopped / sliced
  2. 1 bunch mustard greens, chopped
  3. 2 tofu, diced
  4. 1 small clove red onion, sliced
  5. 2 cloves garlic, sliced
  6. 3 pinches of salt
  7. 3 pinches of black pepper powder
  8. 1 tsp of sweet soy sauce
  9. 2 pinches of flavouring food

Estimated total calories: 206 cal

Instructions:

  1. Cook the chopped carrots first because it takes much time. set aside
  2. Sauté in oil red onion, garlic and then put the mustard green, tofu and carrot.
  3. Add some salt, pepper powder, flavouring food and sweet soy sauce to taste it.
  4. Finish and enjoy it.

Simple, right? Anyway, try the recipe. It’s yummy! I’m not vegetarian and I don’t like veggies. So far, I can only eat some veggies like water spinach, mustard green/white and  broccoli. I attempt to try others as you know veggies are good for our health.
